Introducing vSwarm

Postby abraxasvswarm on Tue Oct 20, 2009 3:54 pm

Hi guys,
I want to introduce myself and the project we are working on:
first the project: vSwarm
We just launched a community-based free render farm especially for blender. Find it under http://www.vSwarm.com.
Why we started this?
We had the idea during our own renderings. There are so many computers that could help processing massive calculation tasks. Our own PCs are not working hard all the time so why not commit the power to the community. That now can be down with the vSwarm client. A java-based software running a virtualMachine on your PC.
As it is ready for public testing please take some time, check it out and give us feedback about it.

About me / us the guys starting this project:
We are two german IT-professionals running our own company and developing the software / project in every free minute.

Greetings
Abraxas

Hi,
we are running blender in a virtual machine. So right now we are supporting blender internal render with this render farm. We are working on the implementation of LuxRender (had that on-line already, but it caused to many problems).

If you think that it is cool, invite your friends and help us get more CPUs available for all members.

Cheers and thanks for the positive feedback!

Yeah. We are working on that. My computer runs linux and sometimes windows. Our Servers might join if there is a linux client. So be sure, we are interested in a linux client as well....

please post feature request in our forum. This makes it easier for us to keep track with the wishes of our members :-)
And yes, we are already thinking about torrent download.
