Blender UI for Mac

How long till Blender gets a reasonable UI for Macintosh? :|

I really want to try out Blender, but the UI is crazily ugly. Sorry, don't take it personal, whoever made Blender's UI...

I think blender won't get a UI that's just for Mac.
Because Blenders UI is always same with different OSes.

Or it may have, when time comes, it will surely another distro of blender.

I think blenders UI is not ugly or so whatever, it is just not standard enough, we'll what I mean about "standard" is that, it doesn't follow what other 3d apps has. But still so many people really love using it just because of its UI.

Here's the plans for Blender 2.50 (just scroll down)

Okay... :|

I am just new to 3D, and even though I've seen what great stuff can be done with Blender, I wouldn't be able to get used to the UI. I think Cheetah3D ( http://www.cheetah3d.com/ ) and SketchUp ( http://www.sketchup.com/ ) have the best UIs for new people like me. Maybe Blender can try to adopt at least some of these UI features. At least the Mac's menu bar should be used!

I have had the same comments too before with regards to the UI. But I guess that's what Blender is and that thing keeps in apart from any other app I've seen. When you got yourself comfortable with the "busy" UI, you'll realize its power over any other tool you could use around.

As with your start in Blender or 3D in general, I suggest you choose what makes you happy and comfortable, then try to stick with it for a few months or so to feel it (I've had that problem on choosing my tools before, but beats me, I settled for GIMP and Blender).

Good luck on your endeavor. ;)

Same thing with GIMP though, it's too confusing for me

Soak your hands into Blender long enough and you will realize its full power. Once you get the hang of it, it will become a second nature to you.

You can safely say you've acquired its innate workings when you start deleting files from your PC using "X" :D

You use Ubuntu?

Do you happen to run it on a Mac?

Wahahaha! Speaking of which, I actually (accidentally) tried to select blocks of text on MS Word with the "A" key and was even frustrated enough to ask my friend what the heck is wrong MS Word that it can't select everything on my screen, and to my surprise, I realized it was CTRL A that should do the select all command instead. Oh my, Blender, how great are you that you even meddle with my other stuffs. Haha! :D

The UI is not ugly and should never be a problem. It is an issue for noobs since "they are new to it" . You can change the way it appears, as you want it to be, just drag the windows. Imagine you can divide all the windows as you want it.

The UI is not ugly and it is an insult to all the volunteers who develop such powerful tool. People who are good enough can change its cursor, widgets, highlights, UI colors, etc. You can even add phyton scripts and develop it as your own. Your only limit is your creativity.

Blender's inherent steep learning curve does not mean it is ugly.
